O Baltic Business Forum
The Idea of the BBF is to strenghten economic cooperation in the ABC region: Adriatic, Baltic, Black Sea. The region contains EU countries but also important economies outside the Union - Ukraine and Turkey.
The main prerequisite for economic cooperation in the region mentioned above are issues such as the construction of transport and energy infrastructure at the North-South Axxis, complementing traditional pathways between eastern and western Europe. Those investment are being developed thanks to EU funding, local authority engagement, mobilizing capital markets as well as the creation of the Three-sea Fund.
West-Pomeranian Voivodeship and Świnoujście have become a transport-energy hub. LNG Terminal, Gas North Gate exit, new transmission gas pipelines, wind farms, the tunnel and container terminal in Świnoujście give enough reason to debate on the situation of Poland, the EU and the ABB region.

Energy for development
A series of 10 Baltic Business Forums comprises 10 highly energising meetings and discussions in the hospitable city of Świnoujście, a city which is an example of the Polish economic success and seized opportunities created by the Polish accession to the European Union. It is the city which follows the footsteps of the legendary city of Gdynia built during the period of the 2nd Republic of Poland. In 10th-12th April 2019, we are looking forward to seeing you at the 11th Baltic Business Forum. What makes BBF so unique?
First of all, the idea of the BBF is unique and powerful: strengthening economic cooperation in the ABB region, Adriatic-Baltic-Black Sea. It is a direct reference to the idea of Joseph Piłsudski announced at the beginning of the 20th century, the idea of Intermare. It is also a reference to the concept of constructing and further developing infrastructural and energetic connections between the northern and southern Europe, promoted and implemented after the accession of Poland to the EU. Similarities with the concept of Three-seas announced by President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda are also noticeable. Three-seas concept however treats only about the EU countries while the BBF concept is expanded with Turkey and Ukraine. The West-Pomeranian Voivodeship has grown to be a transport and energy hub for Poland, in our opinion this is in fact the place connecting the Baltic with the Adriatic and the Black Sea. Of course we are not limiting ourselves to discussing the issues of cooperation in the ABB region. During the BBF we debate on energy safety (West Pomerania gets over 70% of energy from renewables), about the meaning and importance of regional policies in the EU, development of cities, investment instruments as well as barriers, we put to question issues especially interesting for entrepreneurs and local administrators. During the BBF we stress out that in order to develop you need power. Power of leadership, power of local societies. Power that is clean, efficient and available, power needed to fuel our surroundings along with our favorite toys and gadgets.
Secondly, the power of BBF lies in special guests. We have already hosted during the BBF such prominent guests as: Jerzy Kwiecińśki – Minister of Investment and Development, Taras Tokarski – Deputy Minister of Regional Development of Ukraine, Adam Bodnar – Ombudsman of Poland, Proffessors Marek Belka, Michał Kleiber, Grzegorz Kołodko, Bogusław Liberadzki, Witold Orłowski, Henryk Skarżyński. What is more, Aleksander Kwaśniewski, President of the Republic of Poland 1995-2005, former prime Ministers Waldemar Pawlak and Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz, ministers, MPs, senators, presidents of different Polish and Ukrainian cities. Over 830 prominent people visited the BBF! Discussions in the agenda sum up to over 10 000 minutes. After the debates, evening talks continue, company is international and the experience unique. We have already hosted guests from Ukraine, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, Sweden, Croatia, China and Georgia.
Finally, BBF is open for all who wishes to participate.Guests invited to the BBF have met with local citizens and tourists during the BBF Café. People walking by the shore could check their hearing in the mobile hearing center provided by Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, a highly renown medical facility.
BBF never divides guests to VIPs and ordinary ones, both our speakers and guests are very important people!
Baltic Business Forum holds many values. It is a conference with high content value of the agenda, it is ambitious, Polish and international.
-Dariusz Szymczycha, Deputy Chairman of the Europe-North-East International Association
